*If you are going to spoil the book, please use a spoiler alert. Thank you.*
I completed the last book in the series on Tuesday. I really did enjoy reading this series. The first book was a great introduction to the series, and it was a really action packed book. Catching Fire was my favorite of the series, it was a really great book and had many shockers in it. Mockingjay was another great book, and it was a good way to end such an amazing series.

read the first 4 chapters of the first book a year ago. haven't read it since. it just didn't have that "harry potter feel" to it. what i mean by that is that i could put it down and not pick it back up. with books like harry potter and percy jackson, i have to keep reading

The first part of the book is really just an introduction to the series, it starts picking up in the beginning of the second part.

Well to all of you who are reading this thread and haven't read the books nor the movie (if for some reason you never saw the movie). I advise you read the books before watching the movie. But if you already saw the movie like a normal person...But haven't read the books. START READING! The next movie, Catching Fire, comes out in November so you still have time to read the first two books and be ready for what is to come. Also, you can compare the book to the movie...As well as act like a critic and saw "Hey, they missed a part!" or "They changed it!!". But yeah that is my advice...

books are always better than the movies. books tie up loose ends. movies have to miss out everything that is not 100% neccessary

I think it was stupid that they replaced Madge with Greasy Sae in the movie.

I only read the first one so far, I was going to read Catching Fire but I got way too busy and had to return to my library. I will probably read it next year though.

just finished the first one. after part 1 it got much better, much less boring and harder to stop reading. but i felt like the writing was forced. it wanted to be past tense and it was present. oh well, will get the others in the series soon

yeah, all of part 1 was basically just eating and training and flashbacks of gale. the games themselves were exciting but i think that rue should've lived longer, i mean they were only in an alliance for about a day and that was just blowing up the stuff

I believe the author intended for that, because soon after her death there is other eight tributes left and then there is a interesting announcement that came before Part 3.
