So this thread is to discuss animes and mangas, suggest them to other members, share your likes in anime etc.
Starting this i generally like animes with an apocalyptic scenario or a dark atmosphere such as Wolf's Rain, Hellsing, Elfen Lied, Soul eater and Shamman king. Ofcourse i do have some exception to other genres such as the anime Tokyo Mew Mew.
I thought first we would need to know each others likes before starting suggestions.

For an odd reason when i googled it, i thought of a fusion of Medusa from Soul Eater and Konata from lucky star: Konata + Medusa = Squid Girl? Each name is a link to an image.

Some of my personal favorites: Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (probably the most well done anime I've ever seen and the English dub is actually phenomenal), and HIGURASHI NO NAKU KORO NI (damn good and suspenseful).
There's one I randomly found recently. It's called Acchi Kocchi. It's a slice of life romance. It's friggin' adorable and absolutely hilarious. The main focus is a single romance between this quiet girl and a somewhat oblivious guy, but the romance doesn't obnoxiously steal the ENTIRE show. It's great. I showed it to Flare and he liked it a lot.

My favorite anime right now is Fairy Tail. It has a little bit of everything: badass wizardry, comedy, emotional scenes that have made me cry on more than one occasion, and of course, fan service. I haven't been able to watch too many animes because I haven't got the time to look around for new stuff :[
Other animes that I've watched include Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Bleach, School Rumble, Squid Girl, Lucky Star, and Freezing (although I stopped watching it halfway and just read the manga now)

I've heard very good reviews and comments about Fairy Tail, so i might watch it too. I also watched Inuyasha though it may not fall under favorites it was a very good anime.

Does anyone else think that animes shouldn't be longer than 30-50 episodes? I feel like having any more than that makes the show lose direction or get stale. I mean, consider Naruto and Bleach. They both have HUNDREDS of episodes and it's clear that they won't be ending any time soon.

Even if you take out the 100+ episodes of filler, I still don't think the series has any direction anymore from where it's reached. It's kinda like: "Oh, it'd be cool if this was a story arc! Ok, let's just connect it to the one of the bajillion main characters in someway and BAM! 20 more episodes."

Well, Bleach was actually really good. Up until the whole Aizen thing was over, that is. From then on, it seemed like they were just milking as much as possible, while it was still popular.
In other words, I agree with you completely.
