1. Pokemon can't go back to their previous stages 2. Pokemon can't talk. Also how did this become a conversation about anime? We all know that Pokemon started out as video games, and will should always be known that way. I don't know too much about digimon, but if they didn't start out as video games, then they ripped off the Pokemon "anime", now Pokemon in general. If this is true then this should go on the anime section. Well Digimon started off as an anime... No, Digimon started off as a virtual pet toy similar to the Tamagotchi before it was an anime.

Digimon to Pokemon really isn't as bad as Duel Masters to YuGi-Oh. Now that was clearly a complete rip-off, and not even a good one at that. I was a fan of Digimon, since compared to Pokemon, it had a much darker story to it, which fascinated me as a kid. Don't go bringing Duel Masters into this... it was pretty different to me. Plus, it gets points for being a show about a children's card game that DOESN'T try too hard to take itself seriously like Yu-Gi-Oh! did. I actually really liked Duel Masters back in the day... (or maybe it's just been a while). But to be on topic, I think Pokemon and Digimon were two independently created ideas that happened to be similar, but Pokemon was much more marketable, so it caught on and that's why you don't see forums asking the inverse of this question.

It senses like Pokemon is really trying to get it's revenge. Even the system of evolving your Pokemon into their Mega Evolutions is too similar to Digimon's method. Even though Digimon is a Pokemon's ripoff, Pokemon shouldn't be doing this just to get revenge on something that created over ten years ago.

I wouldn't call it revenge, it's more like "In Yo' FACE!"
