I have to say yes, I was a Digimon's fan as a kid as well as a Pokemon's fan but I have to say they rip-off a LOT about Pokemon. Although, their anime was much better than Pokemon though. I know that is a lot of other people that rip-off Pokemon in an idea, although this one made a lot of money doing so and is the most known idea that had rip-off Pokemon.

I honestly don't know all that much about Digimon. But I have heard they pretty much just copied Pokemon...And I have heard that Pokemon is getting them back by creating MEGA Pokemon, because that is sorta how Digimon are designed. But I am not sure :/

I haven't watch that many episodes of it, but from what I've seen it's a bit too close for comfort, and thus never succeeded like Pokemon did

I haven't watch that many episodes of it, but from what I've seen it's a bit too close for comfort, and thus never succeeded like Pokemon did Digimon was popular for a while, their first two series were actually good and their third series was decent. Although, the fourth's season sucked (In my opinion.) After that, it was aired on Disney XD anymore so I stop watching it. It wasn't that bad for a Pokemon rip-off, although I am not happy about the fact that it is a Pokemon's rip-off. Personality, I do still like Digimon but I just don't have much respect for it that anymore due to the fact it is a rip-off of Pokemon.

Digimon.- Digital Monsters Pokemon.- Pocket monsters Although there are several traits that make them very similar, digimon had several things that made them different to pokemon. And if something i'd say bakugan is the biggest ripoff. They turn into freaking spheres as if it wasn't too much of a ripoff.

Digimon to Pokemon really isn't as bad as Duel Masters to YuGi-Oh. Now that was clearly a complete rip-off, and not even a good one at that. I was a fan of Digimon, since compared to Pokemon, it had a much darker story to it, which fascinated me as a kid.

I personality still like to watch the old episodes of Digimon Adventures and Digimon Adventures 2, although I think it is a rip-off of Pokemon but I don't hate Digimon I just don't respect it like I did as a kid.

"Pokemon was created first, being first aired in 1995. Digimon was first aired in 1997. Many people are saying that the creators of Pokemon also created Digimon. Here in Australia, Digimon was a pretty big hit that lasted about a year. Now everyone (well mostly) hates it. I don't blame them.
Digimon was not copied from Pokemon. Anime all around somehow relates to one another. That's just like saying Digimon copied Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! copied Digimon, it's not true.
Pokemon was created 2 years before Digimon was, giving the creators time to invent it. I believe that Pokemon and Digimon were invented before their release and then it just took the creators of Digimon a while to come out, so people believe that Digimon copied Pokemon. Pokemon came first, followed by Digimon." " This is a quote from Wiki. Pokemon came first, so Digimon must have copied them

If you do some more digging, you'll find that Digimon was actually a virtual pet toy much like the Tamagotchi, which was released in 1997, before it became an anime.

Well, yes and this is why I think so:
1. They can evolve and role back to their previous stages.
2. They can talk

Also how did this become a conversation about anime? We all know that Pokemon started out as video games, and will should always be known that way. I don't know too much about digimon, but if they didn't start out as video games, then they ripped off the Pokemon "anime", now Pokemon in general. If this is true then this should go on the anime section.

Well Digimon started off as an anime... Well then this should go on the anime section. No. The anime isn't a rip-off of Pokemon, it is the concept of Digimon's itself. The anime is MUCH different than the Pokemon Anime.
