Suggestions would be appreciated.
Stegosaurus (Zangoose) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Toxic Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Facade
- Night Slash
- Quick Attack
Zangoose is the primary STEGOSAURUS of my team. Once Toxic Orb activates, its Facade becomes more powerful than Adamant Choice Band Groudon's Earthquake, which makes it fairly powerful by most standards. Quick Attack allows Zangoose to take out some faster, weakened threats, and somewhat compensates for Zangoose's awful speed. With Close Combat and Night Slash, every Pokemon is hit for at least neutral damage. I usually try to get Toxic Orb up early on while I revenge kill a slower, weakened Pokemon, before switching Zangoose out so it can smash stuff later in the game.
Stegosaurus (Golurk) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Punch
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Stealth Rock
As my STEGOSAURUS of choice, Golurk's primary advantage over its competitors is its unique typing, allowing it to block rapid spinners. In addition, Golurk hits extremely hard thanks to its stellar attack and Iron Fist. The EVs are so I can outspeed 4 Spd Golurks, but I can't afford to invest any more than that because this guy is pretty much my defensive pivot without recovery and with average defenses.
Stegosaurus (Scolipede) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Aqua Tail
- Megahorn
- Swords Dance
Scolipede is an incredibly potent STEGOSAURUS under the right circumstances, capable of dealing quite a bit of damage after a Swords Dance boost. Once Salac Berry activates, almost nothing can outspeed Scolipede, making it more difficult to revenge kill. A +2 STAB Swam-boosted Megahorn can be quite threatening to certain Pokemon, and Aqua Tail provides decent coverage alongside Megahorn, in addition to being slightly more accurate.
Stegosaurus (Primeape) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Sometimes weak priority moves just don't cut it against sweepers, so I have Primeape as my team's STEGOSAURUS. U-Turn makes Primeape an excellent scout, and STAB Close Combat makes it a potent revenge killer, while Ice Punch and Stone Edge provide acceptable coverage. I use Vital Spirit over Anger Point, which would give Primeape ridiculous sweeping potential if activated, because absorbing sleep is quite useful and Primeape is highly unlikely to survive all but the weakest critical hits.
Stegosaurus (Samurott) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Atk / 36 SDef / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Megahorn
- Swords Dance
At this point while building my team, I realized that I was in dire need of a STEGOSAURUS. Samurott immediately came to mind. I decided to use a defensive EV spread because the rest of my team is sort of squishy. A combination of Samurott and Scolipede with the same type coverage will usually be able to muscle through walls that can take on one of them but not both. Lum Berry allows me to set up on more things, which is always useful.
Stegosaurus (Braviary) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Superpower
- Return
- U-turn
Stegosaurus is cool. I like Stegosaurus.
Stegosaurus (Zangoose) @ Toxic Orb
