We all know Smogon has been talking about it. We might as well. Victini. With the last movie event he was given, he got access to a more powerful electric option while still maintaining his V-Create, and let us not forget a fire move stronger than Fire Blast on the special side. He also got glaciate that is used specifically for Gligar, or can be used to slow his opponent's down when running a life orb/expert belt set. The main question is, do you think the fact that Victini got an enhanced movepool justifies a bump to BL/OU, or is the little Moogle look a like (yeah, I went there) perfect where he is at. Also, Special Victini <3. sorry, as you get to know me, you realize I like what everyone doesn't.

Well CB Victini can practically 2hko the entire tier. except for defensive Arcanine, so....I think it could be justified if it got bumped up to BL. I really wouldn't mind.

Yeah I agree with Zero... It is one of those Pokemon that even though it is getting bumped up to a higher tier, it will still be used ex. Sun teams.

Victini's pretty slow and has only decent speed. My favorite counter is Houndoom with Flash Fire which I can predict a V-create or what not easily, and then pursuit/SP/Crunch victini easily. I use to use it, but even with CB sets I wasn't really doing all that well. I think it could go either way though

I think it could go either way though While Houndoom is a good check to Victini, (given correct predictions) CB Bolt Strike/ U-Turn/Brick Break completely neutralize it. And sadly, he is pretty low on usage, right alongside Meloetta. It can stop V-Create spam, so I'll give it that, but Arcanine does it better imo

Plus, most people slap on a Choice Scarf...making it base 150.

Personally I don't think it needs to be bumped up to OU. The Choice Banded set is pretty powerful, but easily revenge killed and easy to stop if you can predict right. Swampert, Rhyperior, Slowbro, Suicune, and all flash fire users. Also V-create lowers speed and both defenses making it even easier to kill Victini after a V-create and if it does use another move it really isn't that powerful because it won't be STAB and only base 100 attack. Choice Scarfed Victini is a little better IMO, but doesn't hit as hard and V-create is the only move that really does good damage. If your team isn't extremely weak to fire moves you should be fine and can deal with it pretty well. The mixed Victini set is probably the best set though. Victini does have a pretty solid special move pool and it can really destroy wall cores if played right. Still if Life Orbed it loses health every hit and isn't insanely fast and you can revenge kill it with your scarfer. One hundred base speed is pretty solid for a life orbed Pokemon though. Stealth Rocks are a huge problem for Victini though. If you switch in on them you lose 25% of your health, most likely fire off a V-create decreasing your stats, and forcing you to switch out. This allows your opponent based on their skill to start setting up, get switch advantage, or fire a powerful hit to another Pokemon on your team. To prevent this you may use a spinner, but there is a decent amount of powerful ghost types in the tier and if you aren't careful Cofagrious could use your spinner to set up and sweep. All in all I agree that victini is a good Pokemon in UU, but I don't think it should get bumped up to BL.

It's just my opinion but I haven't been hassled by it at all.

With this new movepool i don't see much of a change in victinni, all i can see is now he can run a special variant. Yet however having that evenly split stats with those moves could allow him to run a slightly harder to counter mixed life orb set. Him being able to use glaciate isn't much of a difference since we could always give him hidden power ice which has more power. However i still believe he will remain UU(Or was it borderline he was in?) due to as mentioned above the stealth rock weakness.

It's a Celebi with worse typing. Not only is it weak to pursuit (Houndoom, anyone? He IS just a check, but...a really GOOD one.) but it's also weak to stealth rocks, and EdgeQuake. Not to mention, its moveset is predictable (V-Create/Blue Flare, Zen Headbutt/Psychic, Bolt Strike/Grass Knot, Focus Blast/U-Turn) whereas Celebi's isn't.

Victini is being suspect tested in UU now. If he is voted out he'll move into BL like Froslass before him.
Thoughts?
My main points are above. Besides that: he's got very good offenses, but he's really no better than Darmanitan, especially with that sheer force. So if Sheer Force Darmanitan stays in UU, then Victini should too. Also, he's got horrible defensive typing. At least Darm isn't weak to Pursuit and Sucker Punch.
