So apparently they're suspect testing Keldeo now. I just logged onto Pokemon Showdown and saw a new OU Suspect Tier. Thoughts? Personally, I don't see it like I did with Lando. Standard Keldeo set is always special, and is primarily STAB + some HP (usually ice...though sometimes not especially on non-calm-mind sets that also run icy wind). So Jellicent counters it because even though it would take a while for him to actually KO Keldeo, Keldeo literally can't do anything to it. Unless it has HP electric (which is rare) but even then, if expert belt it's not a guaranteed 2HKO even with stealth rocks and even when the Jellicent doesn't have any SpDef investment: 252 SpA Expert Belt Keldeo Hidden Power Electric vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 175-209 (43.42 - 51.86%) If life orb, it is admittedly a 2HKO after stealth rocks, though. Then there's Toxicroak, who can take pretty much anything; Tentacruel, who's in about the same situation as Jellicent except it can't shadow ball or recover so it's not quite as good; Celebi, unless it has HP bug (which I'll admit, I run specifically because of Celebi); Latias, who doesn't really really mind HP Ice/Bug unless it's already at +1 and can recover to build up calm minds; and that's all I can think of right now. Now, I will say someone made a good point a while back when people were still pissed about the landorus stuff: If you really think you know what you're doing, hop on the suspect ladder and get a high enough rating to be able to vote. I would take that advice except I can't get my rating high enough  So failing that, let's talk about it here!  |

Personally, I don't think he will get banned. Choiced variants are easy to play around, and if you have Jellicent, he is just straight up walled. CM variants are bit scarier, but depending on what HP its running for coverage, you can work around it. I do admit that it is a big threat, and might be overcentralizing a little bit (forcing most teams to run a Jellicent or Specially defensive Celebi just deal with it). We'll see what happens though, I don't really have the patience to try and ladder to cast a vote lol

Keldeo is not going to get banned in my opinion. Choiced sets are easily walled, and the CM variants can be taken down by Breloom. Keldeo does offer some good coverage, but is not going to fair well in Ubers anyway. I hardly see it used much, but it's not as big of the threat as Lando was. Soulred were you watching the Spade/Wilechase Podcast, because that's where I heard that quote  |

I agree with you btw, except really about Breloom--he's a decent check, but he's just too weak to switch in on anything since he can't outspeed. |

Checking Keldeo is fairly hard, but it's not impossible. Lando was a problem in the fact that he could run many different sets and could pretty much 2HKO anything after Stealth rocks. But Jellicent can easily come in and take its dual-stab and toxic stall it. Keldeo is not worth sending to Ubers in my opinion.

Smogon seriously wants to ban Keldeo. If you read the thread about suspecting Keldeo, 9/10 of the community wants it gone.

Or, if Smogon voters are whiny little babies anymore, who think they know the metagame, when in reality, they get sweeped by something once, and wanna try and ban it. Trust me. Following the Smogon Post on it, people are really whiny when it comes to Keldeo. They were with Froslass in UU, and guess what, it's now banned in UU. |
