The release of X and Y is nigh, and we've already seen a plethora of new Pokemon, Abilities, and moves. On this thread, we bring our competitive knowledge and experiences to theorize how the new metagame will be like (given what he have so far). List of released Pokemon so far: www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon.shtmlNew Mechanics: www.serebii.net/xy/mechanics.shtmlNew Moves and Abilities www.serebii.net/xy/attacks.shtmlwww.serebii.net/xy/abilities.shtmlAnd so, lets the discussion begin! Let me begin by commenting on Honedge (who I think looks like a total badass). Having No Guard as its ability is a kind of a mixed blessing. Given that its a Ghost type, he will most like have Will-o-Wisp (100% accurate WoWs is amazing), but what other, more offensive options could he possibly have? Stone-Edge? Maybe. Fissure? Sounds like a pain to deal with on random wi-fi, but otherwise, that is pretty useless in competitive play. If it turns out to be some sort of Trick Room sweeper, (similar to Reuniclus) this thing would easily become a top tier threat. One possible set could be more a supportive role with Trick Room, Will-o-Wisp, a possible new physical Ghost-type attack or maybe even Night Slash, and a filler move, most likely another attack.

I imagine that as an Eeveelution, Sylveon will at least be good. I think we're gonna see a lot less Dragons with the inclusion of the Fairy type (assuming it's not revealed to be weak to everything else useful).
I have a feeling that the one new move Topsy Turvy will probably come in to play. Inverting stat changes can really screw someone up. If someone with Trickster gets that ability, then Baton Passing will be a much easier threat to deal with.

Well. If you want to see my thoughts, check out my channel and I have several videos with my thoughts as well as some of my friends thoughts... I am actually hoping to do another one with Steel later this month... Btw Dag, I believe it is Prankster, not Trickster lol

Unless its like an egg move or a TM that you can teach to Sableye (Which I believe could be the only one to get Prankster and Topsy Turvy) But I totally agree that this move will definitely have a big impact against set up sweepers.

Gotta love the sword pokemon... I feel it's going to be more in the sense something like Cofagrigus. It'll have it's uses, but isn't going to be incredibly used. But what about MEGA-EVO's. That stuff is crazy insane! Pretty much all of them are extremely cool looking (especially Blaziken and Lucario) gotta give love to that Mawile too... Steel AND Fairy typing!

Gotta love the sword pokemon... Yes indeed, give Sylveon a sword and you got a new Pokemon I think there are some hidden Pokemon in the game that we do not know about yet. Now I hope that is the case

Now I hope that is the case There most likely are more Pokemon in the game that they haven't revealed yet. Because it would be no fun if they showed us everything! There would be no surprise factor!

I look at Tyrantrum compared to the other fossil, and I immediately foresee another Rampardos/Bastiodon situation. I figure Tyrantrum is going to be a potential powerhouse, looks like a total killer, think of a Banded Outrage from that thing.

Given that it is based off a sauropod, I think it's safe to assume that Aurorus will have a slow, defensive stat spread, which would probably keep it out of OU thanks to its absolutely awful defensive typing. However, provided its attack and/or special attack are acceptable, I could see it posing as a viable offensive threat in lower tiers with access to the possibly very potent Freeze-Dry, which seems as of now to be a move unique to its evolution chain.

On the chance that these many leaks are real, that slug dragon could be a wall option, it looks like it has decent bulk and while it may be weak to fairy now, it looks kind of like a gastrodon, and it makes me think it could get recover. I guess we never really know about that thing until huge stats are officially released.

www.smogon.com/forums/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-xy-data-collection.3489182/Aurorus might make it to UU, I think. It has advantages over other special ice types in that it's a dinosaur. Greninja, Pangoro, and Heliolisk look like they have a shot at OU. In addition, Goodra, Noivern, Hawlucha, Tyrantrum, Aurorus, Barbaracle, Florges, Delphox, Malamar and Chesnaught could probably work well in UU. This is assuming the power levels in OU and UU do not change significantly this generation. I'm not even going to bother with the mega evolutions.

I see Florges easily going to OU. Exceptional SPDef, decent SPAtk, and useable Spd. The combination of Dazzling Beam and possibly Hidden Power Ground could provide decent coverage for Fairies (I think that the type that resists this combination is Bug)

But Florges is pure Fairy fk I'm retarded k I deleted my previous post Mega Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise/Gardevoir/Manectric/Heracross/Absol look like they'll stay in OU and I'm not sure about mega Alakazam/Garchomp/Medicham/Abomasnow/Gyarados/Scizor, but the rest look like easy Uber material.
