Hi there, my name's Tom, and I'm a 14 year old pokemon battler from England. I've been playing Pokemon since I was about 7 (my first games were Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness), but I decided to become a competetive battler at the age of 9, when, back then, the only way to play was either the Shoddy Battle Simulator, or relying on an unstable DS Lite's wifi connection, although the majority of connections were never able to be used on DS Lites, due to WEP being the only thing it seemed to like.
This meant that, as a 9 year old, I had to join some communities to learn a lot about Pokemon, the metagames, the games themselves, even though back then, Serebii was one of the only websites I knew that I was able to get ideas from (although many ideas weren't even given to me, but were given as advice in other people's teams).
Being 9, I hadn't really got a clue on "how to survive" on the internet, and I, within months, started to get trolled by people that were pretty tiny back then, but still had thousands of people. The worst I remember was an encounter with Giancarloparimango11 on the internet, where he'd been talking to me, along with many other people that used to go to his Xat chat rooms. Little did I know, he'd decided to take the mickey out of me, and livestreamed videos of me, while at the same time he was in calls with all these other people (Nickmatt07 was one), and they were all laughing at me. This turned my world upside down, and I honestly considered quitting the internet there and then, but I, being brave (although I'm sure it was mainly bravado, or fake bravery), decided to simply ignore the constant hate I got from these trolls, of whom, just weeks before the events occured, they were my LPing idols. I got onto Pokemon Online a lot more, and decided to find better friends, and that was when my old youtube channel, PokemonGamer1000, started to grow.
Although it's not a great achievement now (infact, most channels can get this now), my channel was gaining thousands of real viewers. As this happened, however, I was starting to be flagged in the era of false-flaggers such as Conjopi and Isophs back in early 2011. Although I was really improving on Competitive battles, my channel was eventually stopped in its tracks when a 2nd strike occured, and I decided to slow down, and focus on youtube, of which I enjoyed at the time.
I decided to make another channel named GigalithTV, of which was really popular, but again, by the end of 2011 the account got Phantom-closed (It randomly got auto-closed, don't know how). I was demotivated, and, for the last year and a half, I've been making videos on TomTheTyranitar, my current channel. Although I try my hardest to be interesting, life has taken it's toll, as has all the bad events in my life on the internet. Therefore, I now barely gain views, so decide to again focus on Pokemon Showdown.
Hopefully my long speech hasn't bored you, and hopefully you've now learnt about my experiences in the past.
