On the topic of animation, I added sparkles to the trophy just to add some effect. I guess you can test to see if you can overwrite pre-existing badge images? IDK, just wanted to try it out lol Done, looks good. As for the Gifs, most of the methods were already mentioned, i myself use photoshop and if you don't have a software that can make gifs you could just make each individual frame into a separate image and ask someone who has a program that can make gifs to add each frame and save it as a gif.

Does anyone know how to make a gif? I'd like to change my actual badge for a small, animated mega-evolution symbol. But I am afraid I am new to the animation, can someone help me out? I used the animation pane of photoshop, and then 'save for web & devices'. I searched some free gif makers, so maybe these could be helpful for anyone without photoshop? www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-animated-gif-maker.htmGimp might also have an animation tool, but I've never really used gimp, so I can't say for sure. (edit; also ninja'd) Zermonious Thanks for the animation programs. But I think I'll stick with the UnFREEz for now as a basic program. However, I've been messing around a little bit and when I try to make the frames in paint. The textures get worse (pixiliated), colours become dull or "greyer" like if it didnt reflected feelings (just like the Test_1 of Zermonious trophy). And even worse, when I press "Make Animated Gif" A pop-up appears and says: "Not a Gif" but still creating a file or image. When I try to see it, it displays this: "Windows Photo Viewer can not open this picture because Photo Viewer does not support this file format or you do not have the most recent updates to Photo Viewer" Any help?

Draconaitr25What is the extension name of the created file? You could try dragging the file into a web browser to what it looks like, if anything.

Draconaitr25 You have to make sure you are saving the files as .gif files, not .png or anything else. That may be your problem.

Zermonious dragonarbockOkay. I corrected the mistake Zermonious mentioned. I saved the files in .gif and the frame became pixiliated or low definition. Then I dragged those to the program and generated the .gif But when I look at it, there is no animation, even with the frame delay which I tested. Two questions: 1. I am currently making the frames in .png, how can I pass it to .gif without lowering the definition? 2. Do I have to see the animation once posted in a website to test if it works? Or in what program/window I have to use if photo viewer is not the file I should open with it.

Allright. I did 4 frames of the animation and tested it out again. The animation works if I view it with Quicktime Player instead of Photo viewer. But still, the low definition transformation ruins everything.

Draconaitr25The problem with the quality is when you save something as gif that was previously a different file extension in something like paint, it changes over to a set, indexed color palette (8 or 16 bit? I can't remember)- either way it limits the amount of colors you can use at a time. Programs like photoshop index them better and allow for more when saving as gif. Gimp is free, I believe. Get that, open your png files, then export them as gifs, maybe? (or, if nothing works for you, send me your png frames, and I'll save them as gif with photoshop for you)

dragonarbock. I actually have photoshop so I'll try to save them as a .gif on my own. I just hope the program Zermonious gave me works with photoshop .gif. Regardless, Thank you again.

Allright! I finished all 7 frames, put a frame delay of 10 cs. And turned them to a gif. using photoshop, just like dragonarbock suggested. Which I should give a great appreciation for the help. Also Zermonious for the program and the help. Here is the link: draconaitr25.deviantart.com/art/Mega-evolution-symbol-gif-481609063 Although I have two final questions. How can I turn the background to blanc? Like not grey or white, blanc? And, if I change the size, will it affect the definition? (Note that I am making this questions because its like 1:00am in the morning) Wolf Prince, can I change my badge for the new one in deviantart? please. Or wait until I fix the gif. with the answers to my questions.

Draconaitr25 Just simply remove the gray background and make it transparent. IDK what program you use, but I know some programs don't support transparency. I use Paint.NET for transparency. As for resizing, it shouldn't as long as you resize it evenly and it doesn't turn out blurry.

For blank/transparent backgrounds in photoshop you have to unlock any layer selected as a background and delete the white/grey stuff that is used as a background with the eraser tool or selecting them with magic wand and deleting it. Although if the image is indexed you have to turn it into RGB before unlocking it.

The testing week of the badge system has concluded, even though users can't submit their own badge for testing/keeping it i will keep this thread open for discussions regarding the badge system.
