This thread is for the discussion of the badge system which as of today is open and under testing. The badge system is a form of reward system for users for winning certain tournaments, participating in certain events or helping the forum in a certain way. Currently there are 2 badges for testing purpose: If you wish to add your own badge to help and test the badge system, post the link of your badge. Those who help testing will be able to keep their own self made badges after the testing is complete, however after testing period it will be harder to get your self made badge given to you as badges will become awards. Staff members: SteelgrassifyzerocielXTheHunterDagAre pending to test their availability to give badges to other members.

Alright I suggest something Like this. (hope you can see the user without needing to register) advancers.proboards.com/thread/1260/badges-award It's the most frequent site I visit and they have a badge system on point. You can use the size of theirs as an example, it's just as big as the balloon ones and it looks really pro. You can also see they have custom names for the admin.

I also would like to test this The size of the images are 50x50p however it appears they modified it to be around 25x25p. I can make the custom names for each staff member but that depends if the staff members would like that.

Here's a test trophy I made. IDK about the real dull style of it yet, might mess around with the colors to see what else I can do with it. EDIT: A much more vibrant colored version.

EDIT: I found it! this one is original I found it in this FE hack and I made one of the people who created it give me one of the gifs from the game. I know it's a gif but something can be done, right? zerocielX I don't remember the hack so don't ask.

Both of you have now been given your respective badges. It is now evident that gifs are possible.

As the badge system appears to be stable, the testing period of it shall end one week from today. Meaning if you miss that period you won't be able to make your own custom badge to be added to your badge collection, and the description of all current badges will change to "Awarded for helping to test the badge system. Made by (Insert user who made the badge here)".

I like the badges that are being tested out, and I think there could be several themes of badges. Like actual badges or ribbons for some sort of contribution the forums or maybe for post reaching a specific post count. Trophies could be for winning a tournament. There could also be others like winning a certain shiny giveaway or just all sorts of fun badges that people can try to collect. :)

Does anyone know how to make a gif? I'd like to change my actual badge for a small, animated mega-evolution symbol. But I am afraid I am new to the animation, can someone help me out?

I use a program called unFREEz. It's free and easy to use. All you have to do is make each frame and save them as a .gif file, then drag them into the program, click animate and it will add them together. You also have to mess with the frame delay and everything to get them working. Animating can sometimes be a hassle, but it is rewarding.

I used the animation pane of photoshop, and then 'save for web & devices'. I searched some free gif makers, so maybe these could be helpful for anyone without photoshop? www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-animated-gif-maker.htmGimp might also have an animation tool, but I've never really used gimp, so I can't say for sure. (edit; also ninja'd)

On the topic of animation, I added sparkles to the trophy just to add some effect. I guess you can test to see if you can overwrite pre-existing badge images? IDK, just wanted to try it out lol
