So i'm surprised nobody has made a thread for this LONG franchise. So well how about we share our experiences, opinions, tips/tricks and secrets about all the Final Fantasy games.
I have played: Final Fantasy Final Fantasy II Final Fantasy III(Beat it) Final Fantasy IV(Beat it) Final Fantasy V Final Fantasy VI(Beat it) Final Fantasy VII(Beat it) Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core(Beat it) Final Fantasy VIII(Currently playing) Final Fantasy My life as a Dark Lord Final Fantasy My life as a king Final Fantasy Duodecim Dissidia(Beat story mode). Not sure if the following counts as part of Final Fantasy franchise as several websites say otherwise The Final Fantasy Legends
And my favorite of all the above would have to be between VI and VII.
Now i hope you all like Final fantasy games as well.

I might have to add this on my list of games to play, after Metroid and Legend of Zelda.

Well, I was in the middle of typing up a long and relevant response to this thread, but my tab somehow closed and everything I wrote was gone... so... condensed version of what I had.
I've beaten I,III,IV, and Tactics Advance
Currently playing V,VI,VII, and Tactics A2
And I despise II and XIII with every fiber of my being.
My favorite is IV, but that may change when I finish VI. And I've played Tactics Advance for way more than 300 hours.

II has the stupidest leveling system imaginable. You level up each stat individually by doing certain actions a lot in battle. Not so bad, BUT leveling up one stat levels down another. So, leveling up attack lowers your magic, and leveling up your magic lowers you're attack (essentially), so you have to do a lot of fiddling around with the two magic stats to even have a chance of having someone who can fight and do a little bit of magic. This whole system makes magic stupid since you're always afraid to even fight with your mages since you don't want to accidentally level up their attack and lower their magic, but on the other hand, you don't want to just use their magic since MP doesn't grow on trees and the items that recover it are scarce (or nonexistent, can't remember). Plus, you level up HP by getting hit... so... if you want to even have a chance of doing decent, you have to grind a lot... and it's a billion times more inconvenient and stupid than normal fighting guys to get exp grinding. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... YOU HAVE TO LEVEL UP EACH SPELL INDIVIDUALLY TOO! It's a waste of time and very counter-intuitive.
XIII is just a huge waste of time, and it isn't even fun by any stretch of the imagination. It has tons of beautiful scenery that you're NOT allowed to explore because you're forced to stay in a metaphorical hallway for 95% of the game. There's nothing wrong with linearity, but it's handled REALLY poorly. You have little to no freedom in pretty much every aspect of the game until about 30-35 hours in... So, you just go through these nice conveniently hallway-shaped environments controlling only two or three of the main characters at a time being led by whoever the fuck the game thinks is more important at the time (really though, there are sections where the two characters you've been controlling just kind of switch places as the leader of the party only because the game said so). (This is especially annoying since it's a battle system that only lets you control the leader while you give the rest of the party general courses of action to take). These hallways are always interrupted about every (at least what feels like) 20 seconds for a really boring dialogue between whatever characters are present (that gets a cutscene pretty much every time). So, EVERYTHING feels like it's shoehorned in and the game WON'T LET YOU JUST FUCKING PLAY IT! Seriously, the hour of nothing but dialogue at the beginning of Persona 4 wasn't this annoying. The constant interruptions for cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid games aren't this annoying. And to top it all off, the battles take forever... like, even the random encounters... you REALLY feel like you're accomplishing nothing.... In summary: the entire game is a huge waste of time. I don't care how good or bad the story is (honestly, it's kind of confusing unless you read all of the datalogs they keep trying to convince you to read. The beginning of the game just kind of keeps rattling off terms like you'd understand them and it gets kind of hard to keep track of at first, and the game follows like 3 groups of people switching back and forth, so it's hard to get invested in anything that's going on), the gameplay at least has to not make me want to kill myself!
So... yeah.

I still can't decide whether IV or VI is my favorite. They're both just so good.

The thing i didn't like about IV is how several characters like Porom who died(Or stoned...) returned to the final battle. While in VI if you didn't rescue Shadow he was never back again.
