I'm sure most of you know about the old man in Anistar City. His wife died and he wants company, so you lend him a lv 5 or lower Pokemon of yours to keep him company. Well, after a few days, the old man dies as well, leaving your Pokemon and a note on the ground in his house. The note thanks you for letting him have his final company and also gives you an item. It's truly a sad tale.
However...what if there was more to it? EVERYONE has heard of the Ghost woman in Lumiose City. She appears on the 2nd floor of an apartment building and creepily says "No...you're not the one..." When you enter. And you never see her again.
Now here is where it gets scary. What if, and this is just a what if, the woman is the old man's wife? I would like to hear your feedback on this.

I actually find this to be a really interesting theory. I always assumed the old man's wife passed away from natural causes given how he didn't go into much depth about the reason she died, meaning she would probably look quite old, as opposed to Hex Maniacs which the overworld sprite for the ghost was, who are, from what I understand, quite young, given how they can be older sisters to Fairy Tale Girls. Perhaps the wife reverted to her prime upon being transformed into a ghost? Of course, we must consider how there is an unusual amount of death for a Pokemon game in X and Y, so these may be entirely unrelated incidents.
On an unrelated note, wars have been mentioned several times throughout the Pokemon games. In Pokemon X and Y, they mention a weapon of mass destruction. Somebody in one of the Kalos cities mentions people may have evolved from Pokemon. Sufficient amounts of radiation do strange things to living things, and such a large detonation may have caused some radiation. This is indisputable evidence that Calem/Serena/the ghost are really Carbinks.
