Okay, so I'm sure most of you know that BS story about the kids listening to the original Lavender Town theme and killed themselves or something like that. Well, being the man of steel that I am, I went and looked it up and found it to be not too bad. But for some reason when I decided to look it up today, I found other stuff too. SO, apparently the original Lavender Town theme that supposedly killed kids was in the BETA version of the game. The story is the same after that. After hearing this, the story is a tad more believable (not by much though).
Seriously though, this is really jarring in some parts for whatever reason, and the high frequencies that the stories talk about are there, and they're REALLY annoying. The thing that supposedly made kids kill themselves though is actual the presence of binaural beats in the music. That's when there's two frequencies that are REALLY close to each other are played simultaneously and that makes the sound sort of oscillate between the two (go search for a sample of this effect, it's hard to describe). Anyway, binaural beats can be used to subtly alter someone's brain waves. It's usually to do something like make them relax, but in this case it was deliberately made to make people really unsettled (it sort of worked on me actually, or maybe I was just getting annoyed about the headache it caused).
Also, there's a possibility that this is fake, I believe that there's some sounds in here that the Game Boy physically couldn't make, but I'm not sure. EITHER way, it's interesting. Check it out.
