I am not going to lie, but not about a few month ago I didn't know that Squirtle was a fusion of a Squirrel and Turtle.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't relieve that until now. Of course, I knew he was a turtle but I didn't relieve the tail was a Squirrel's tail.

I always thought that his name came from turtle and squirrel, mostly due to the fact that his tail looks like a squirrel's, but it seemed a little Farfetch'd

What can I say, a lot of people thought of it like that. (BTW aqua using the wrong form of "lie")

No, because i'm not good at ethymology. The first time i heard of Giratina, i thought it was based on gelatine ._. because of it's similarity to the word "Gelatina".

I don't think being unable to decipher pokemon names necessarily makes you bad at etymology, though. There are probably Pokemon names that were created for no reason other than that they sound pleasing to the ear.

Wait, is there something just released that says it's squirrel and turtle? Unless there is, I'm pretty sure it *is* squirt and turtle because:
Squirt Turtle War Tortoise/Turtle Blast Tortoise
