So who likes the pokemon games that aren't part of the main series? For example pokemon mystery dungeon, and such? What was your favorite branching series and why?

You mean spin-offs? I personally prefer main series, but my favorite spin-off is the Pokemon Ranger series, which in my opinion is underrated.

I don't really like any of the spin offs. PMD never managed to capture my interest long enough to keep playing it. Well, I guess I liked the Pokemon Stadium games, but that's about it.

I loved Pinball, or any pinball game...
I haven't played any other spin-off game, I like the simulation of a Pokemon adventure and role play as a Pokemon trainer in Emerald.

I wouldn't call Stadium part of the main series. In what way is it? The main series is: Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, Saphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black and White 1 and 2, (and X and Y).

I love the PMD games, I love the Ranger games, I love Colosseum, I love XD : Gale of Darkness, Yet I never played the Stadium games. I guess it was because I only got into Pokemon when I was 4 and didn't know what other game systems there were except the Gameboy Color. Oh yeah, Pokemon Channel was actually fun, and like Hey You- Pikachu, another game which I find isn't as good as Pokemon Channel. Pokemon Box was awful- no point in it whatsoever except a cool GC blue/red memory card. Trozei was pretty fun, although I never really understood WHY they made a game like that in a Pokemon retrospect....AND POKEMON RUMBLE BLAST is simply one of the best spin offs to a Pokemon Game.

I did enjoy my Pokemon Ranger and Mystery Dungeon games a lot, and I thought it was a nice change from the seriousness I usually have towards the main series. Some games were better than others but overall I think they did a nice job making the games.

mystery dungeon is fantastic. brilliant. the storyline is everything i could ever hope for in a game. but conquest is up there as well, i liked it because of the strategy involved and speed changing how far you could move in a turn.

Spin-offs don't let you do that, so Stadium isn't a spin-off.

Also, a spin-off is considered anything that it isn't relating to the main games: RBGY/GSC/RSFRLGE/DPtHGSS/BWB2W2/XY.

a main series game is when new pokemon are introduced or a remake of a game that introduced new pokemon. spin off games use current pokemon for their own story type thing.
