Anyone ever play it? I found a copy of it at a used CD/media store and I instantly bought it ($5.50, not a bad deal).
I must say, this one is pretty overlooked. It's well designed in the sense that your main objective (find and exterminate all of the Metroids) encourages exploration and the environments are set up in a way that doesn't make you want to rip your hair out (the first game was basically all boring shafts that looked exactly the same). The game progresses in a nice way, kill all the Metroids in an area, then a new one opens up. It's linear, but it doesn't hold your hand, which is nice.
Mechanically, it works much better than the original Metroid as well. You can actually duck this time, plus, the enemies AREN'T set up in a way that they are just below your natural firing height. Now you can also shoot downwards while jumping (another feature the first game needed).
You guys should all try this one out.

Try going back to it. I wasn't digging it the first time I tried playing it either.
