So now there is a Nintendo 2DS, which is basically a 3DS without 3D. It due to be release on October 12th, and cost $129.99. (My opinion is that they should of came out with this in the first place, because it would of saved me forty dollars and I don't even use my 3D on my 3DS.)

I still see some space for a right analog stick. It is too bulky and can't fold. I hope they make an improved version of this.

Oh boy! I can't wait to get the deformed love child of the 3DS and the Wii U gamepad!
I'll get one if I REALLY don't feel like shelling out $200 for an XL.

To be straight up, I hate it... You can't even fold it. I think Nintendo is just trying to rip people off. This is a bad move for Nintendo...they're taking a step backwards

This is a bad move for Nintendo...they're taking a step backwards This DS system was designed for a much younger demographic: children 7 years or younger. The fact that its coming out the exact same day as Pokemon X and Y, further proves this, since they are the target audience of Pokemon to begin with. With a pretty accessible price tag, and with no hinges to break (children tend to break them pretty quickly) this is an ideal game system for parents. And the added bonus of no 3D, but still having all of the 3DS' features, I definitely think that this system will sell pretty well.

zerocielX: But you can't put it into your pocket...That is the main drawback for me. I feel it also looks like just a big huge block.

zerocielX: I agree that they it will be hard for a child to lose it. But it doesn't have to be the size of a dictionary!!! I think I am so strongly against it is because I love the 3DS.

wait, what is the point of this? you can play 2d on a 3ds and parents can disable the 3d effects for their young children, there is no point to this and as rychu said, it can't even fold so there is no screen protection

How do you guys not get what zero is saying? Children don't care if they can take it places or not. My sister uses an iPad even though it isn't very mobile.

Zero is just trying to make notice of how this is more of a commercial movement(An act to attempt to get more sells for upcoming events,dates,etc.). Due to the release of X and Y. And as he said as well, this is intended more for kids due to the main fact of all it's child oriented features: -Apparently more resistant to impacts. -No 3d(The 3d may cause eye damage on kids under the ages of 7 because they are still growing in a point where they eyes may be easily damaged permanently by certain events or actions). -Cheap so it will get more sales or be more acceptable by parents
It is not supposed to seem good to you, it is supposed to be more acceptable by parents that want it for their children.

i still don't get it. a pre-owned 3ds costs less than this. a 3ds can have 3d turned off. if it's more resistant then ok that's a plus for young children but i still think it doesn't look appealing without a fold. if it was made before the 3ds then nintendo could be sure that everyone would get the 2ds and the 3ds.
